GAY FOOTBALLERS

In January this year former Premier League footballer and German international Thomas Hitzlsperger announces he is gay, and he would like to support gay footballers to come out of the cabinet. There have been rumblings in the media that there are at least 8 footballers currently playing in premier league but they are advised not to come out public with announcement for the sake of their careers.

ROBBIE ROGERS

Robbie Rogers is american footballer who played for Leeds United recently, he came out inthe media and announced that he is a gay and dont want to hide it anymore. Though he left English football soon after and currently playing with LA Galaxy.

THOMAS HITZLSPERGER
Thomas Hitzlsperger is Germany international who played for Aston Villa and Everton in the past, on 08 January 2014 he came out and announce his sexual preference which was quite a surprise. In his early days in English football he had a relationship with german model.

ANTON HYSEN
Glenn Anton Hysén (born December 13, 1990) is an English born, Swedish footballer who plays in the Swedish third division for Utsiktens BK, which is coached by his father Glenn Hysén. He is a former member of the Swedish national under-17 association football team and was given a trainee contract with BK Häcken from 2007 to 2009, but was hindered by injuries and instead joined Utsiktens BK, for whom he plays in his third season. He was previously a member of Torslanda IK. His older brothers are football players Tobias Hysén (half-brother) and Alexander Hysén. He won the seventh season of Let's Dance, being the first openly gay person to win this competition.
 As of March 2014 he has signed with the fourth division team Myrtle Beach FC.

THOMAS BERLING
Thomas Berling (born 21 January 1979) is a retired Norwegian football defender.His retirement from football sparked media attention.
He hails from Drevja. He played for Nardo FK, and joined Lyn ahead of the 1999 season. He played four games in the second highest Norwegian league, and also played for the u-19 national team.
In 2000 he disappeared from professional football. It later surfaced that he had come out as gay, and that he quit football as a result of what he described as widespread homophobia in the football community. In 2001 he briefly came out of retirement, playing for lower league Drøbak/Frogn IF.
Berling's case was cited several times in the upcoming years, as the connection between homophobia and sport was discussed in the national media now and then.

LIAM DAVIS
Inspired by the recent coming out of German superstar Thomas Hitzlsperger, British semi-pro footballer Liam Davis has also come out as gay.
Liam Lloyd Davis (born 23 November 1986 in Wandsworth, Greater London) is an English footballer who plays for Yeovil Town in the Football League Championship.

DAVID TESTO
David Testo (born August 7, 1981, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina) is a former American soccer player who, after his playing career ended in 2011, became the first male American professional soccer player to come out as gay. Testo played professionally from 2003 to 2011, including two years in Major League Soccer with the Columbus Crew from 2004 to 2005. He began his career with the second division side Richmond Kickers, and also played for the Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact (also second division teams at the time), before he was released by the Impact in 2011. He played collegiately for South Carolina and North Carolina.
